Green Shamba Sweden (GSS) collaborates with Kenyan partners to build resilient and sustainable communities on the South Coast of Kenya.
We apply agroecology, entrepreneurship and capacity building primarily throuh the training farm in Msambweni village.

The Green Shamba concept has evolved over many years, beginning in 2008 with a SIDA-funded research project on pesticide use in Tanzania. The journey began when co-funders worked together at a Community-Based Organisation (CBO) on Funzi Island, Kenya under the KESCOM umbrella.
Drawing inspiration, knowledge and insights from Haller, Mombasa, among others, we proceeded with practical trials, interview studies, networking and extensive research. The operations commenced in 2015. Some milestones on our journey:
GSS operates fully on volunteer basis with nearly no administrational costs.
The membership fee is 250 SEK/year.
